Why does everyone want to build a database on u?

I am so sick of this big brother approach from everyone! They all want the ins and outs of a gnat's **** when you are applying for a credit card, loan, Tesco clubcard, house insurance etc etc
They can then keep tabs on you and know exactly where you live and cross ref your car Reg from the hotmail account you gave... Even see where you live from your mobile number and find out how much you spend every month on calls, and to whom...
Hom many hundreds of companies know my mothers' maiden name now or how old my dog is!!! Could a disgruntled employee cause me/us grief???
I have just been anonomously getting online car quotes for the missus. She 'lives' a few doors up and is a few days older with very nice phone numbers I have nothing to hide, but sometimes I just want a quote without this data gathering intrusion into every element of my life. This car; this person; lives here - HOW BL@@DY MUCH.
You are constantly being tracked, analysed and monitored and I'm fed up of being treated as a commodity that is open to intrusion and commercial exploitation just cos I signed their zero option 'I accept this loan and all the datagathering malarkey that goes with it' form.
They will catch you out and deny cover if you slip up one detail on one form that is different to what you said last year. That is scary cos we all make genuine mistakes and that could have been your life insurance that just got cancelled cos you didnt tell your doctor you quit smoking, so no cover cos it was still on his records they accessed...
Tell me, am I being OVERSENSITIVE

Tesco's are trialling them in Cambridge, IIRC. The chips are (allegedly) disabled at the counter by a bit of equipment. So, expect there to be a movement to develop DIY kits that do the same thing.

RFID chips are already in use, on the packets of razors. The store system notes when one is picked up, and takes a photo of the person. Then it takes another photo of the person as they go thought the checkout. If the 2 photo's don't match, or you leave without paying for them, they clobber you.
They'll soon be using RFID chips to track clubcard owners as well. Think of it. RFID chips in the clubcard, and on every peice of shopping. The store will know where you shop, how you walk about the store, what items you buy (as well as pickup but not buy).
don't get a clubcard! easy way to do it!
Never give your name / address to the shop when asked.

1) I don't have any loyalty cards - I leave them to the idiots.
2) register yourself with the Telephone and Mail pref services to stop junk mail/calls.
3) As mentioned above, when buying stuff from comet etc they ask for your house number and postcode "for the warranty" - bull**** it's for marketing.
4) I don't mind giving out postcodes for reference - never house numbers
6) Don't use companies with linked marketing strategies i.e. Virgin, Directline/Tesco's etc

HEAR ME NOW! This IS relevant -
I posted off a letter refuting a parking fine for a motorbike (got fined cos the 12" of a car bay I was legally using suddenly became illegal when a car with a permit used the spot instead of previous man paying the meter - so I get £80 fined - what bollox is that...)
But, get this - everyone calls me Diesel since 12yrs old, & I of course used my 'formal' name on this letter to Westminster Councl -reply COMES BACK ADDRESSED TO *DIESEL*! I was absolutely gobsmacked!
I am therefore clearly not paranoid but am now even more paranoid!
They'll trace the £4 I owed Blockbuster Islington for 6 yrs soon - by cross referencing the online shoe purchases of the missus to my recent Bo Seleta DVD purchase...
If you hear nothing from me for a while, I'll have gone to ground

They substituted my nickname for my REAL name. I clearly only ever use my real name in official things... Cant explain it.
Schtum - I've now gone to ground under ther name of Spider...
