Blimey. After 6 years of daft premiums whilst owning my Impreza(s), and last year's thousand-pound premium on my Jag, I'm just getting quotes on the Jag again this year.

Best so far - £401.

Makes a nice change not to be totally shafted....

You have told them you plan to drive the car, right?

Actually, I don't.

The insurance is simply precautionary - I have no intention of actually driving the car other than to meet whoever buys it off me. At which point the cover will be cancelled.

Below average mileage makes a fair difference. The big increments are 6,000 miles and 3,000 miles.

Best quote today, eSure - £390. My insurance hasn't been that low since I was driving a 1.1L worthless fiesta with 3 years' NCB.
