Just a bit of advice really. Im thinking of building a garage on the back of the house. Was wondering if anyone knew any decent places that supply and fit a concrete pre fab garage.
I have found a few places around but they seem to be a bit strange when it comes to a price. Like the place i just visited online, the garage i wanted was quoted at £2500 fitted free in midlands and north. Yet when i called for a price they said £4999 as thats the price for Luton. Why so expensive for a little more mileage?????? The thing is thrown up in a day FFS. Very strange.
Basically im after a garage, 18ft wide and about 20 ft long. Anyone know anything?

I found the same with Compton Garages.I got a quote for mine in Essex. My father who lived in Lincolnshire was looking at getting a new one as well so having looked at my brochure phoned for a quote for an identical unit to be erected near Lincoln.
Amazingly he was quoted approx £500 less for his.I got onto their Sales & Marketing director & put to him that if my father ordered two garages but asked for one to be erected in Essex would he pay the same for both.He could see where I was heading & said "Fair enough you can have your Essex one for the "Lincoln" price.
It seems that Compton had a troublesome competitor in the Lincoln area & had to price accordingly.Whereas down South the market would stand a higher price.
So I got £500 off my garage.Result.
There's more though. The guy noticed my address was a Plot number,so new build.I was then told that if they had fully installed it before exchange of contracts/completion etc then I would not have to pay the VAT on it either. So they did the install & I didnt pay the VAT.
Oh & he sent me some M&S vouchers as I had referred my father to them & he had put in an order.Aint life grand?
I would certainly pressure them into giving you the cheaper area price.Good luck anyway.

Actual price is a bit out of date now as this was ordered about 5 years ago but I would think their pricing policy would be much the same.
But just for comparison purposes :-
Spar Apex 10'W X 20'L in standard trim £2,127 inc VAT & install onto your prepared base.
I had these optional extra(MODS )
Brick effect front corner posts £59
Plasticote up & over door £89 (Std. door galvanized)
Plasticote steel side door £139
PVCu Facia £149
PVCu fixed side window £89
Gutter kit both sides £120
Inner release handle for up & over £15
Heavy duty shelf brackets £18
Extras total £678 so final total of £2,805
My invoice with the adjusted "Lincoln" price & no VAT was . . .
wait for it . .
£1641.87 or as they say "Quote me happy".I still dont know how I got away with it.
I have dug out the old price list & as per your original post a 19W (they don't list an 18W) x 20L in bare basic trim was £3646.So your £2,500,if you could get it for that, sounds quite cheap.
