Last minute holidays, any experts ??

Thinking of booking a week end of August, about 2 weeks before daparture, it's for the family (me+wife+2 kids), I've never booked a last minute "bargain" before and am paranoid about getting there with the family and accomodation turns out to be a flee pit !! any useful tips welcomed, like go for named accom etc..

Not had a bad last minute holiday yet! Booked a few via teletext holidays and also been through Lunn Poly. Don't be worried! Go for it, it'll be an adventure!!!

We usually book late as my work often interferes with longer dated plans. I've yet to get a 'cheap' deal on a last minute break for reasons you mentioned...want good named accom and kids clubs etc.
Damn kids make everything expensive!
On the other hand, though I rarely get a discount from brochure prices, I have always managed to get a good hol sorted out.
