Nokia 6610 - deemed unrepairable & only 5 months old!!!
#1
Humph - my Nokia 6610 stopped working this week - just would not power on. Was not the battery as tried someone else's good battery, and it didn't work either.
Took it to Carphone Warehouse repair centre, and engineer said the PCB was moisture damaged and therefore was beyond economic repair!!!
I have not to my knowledge water damaged it!!! According to the engineer, it was just a tiny corner of the PCB near the phone connector.
Now, it is only 5 months old, and CPW say they can't help as it is my fault it is damaged. To me, it stinks of bad design if I've been using it in normal conditions and yet it has got moisture damage - in 15 years of owning a mobile, I've never had one with this.....
Anyone else had something similar? Do I just have to accept it and buy a new one??
This is my first phone with replaceable covers - when you take the covers off, you're practically at the PCB layer anyway, so methinks I will avoid these phones in future - too easy for moisture to creep in....
ARGH!

Mate, I think this is one that requires a letter to Nokia...
Hopefully if written correctly they will take you seriously and try and resolve it.
But then again they might not
Good luck!
