Why not wait until at least Monday's post before jumping to conclusions? It may be just a simple misunderstanding, or a problem with the carriers?

I would wait too at least until Monday
I have bought a few things from Ebay, and one thing I have learn is to have a little patience
the postal service aint what it used to be anymore, post boxes only get emptied once a day now, parcels are only collect once a day too (at least from my Mums Post Office they do), and they only deliver once to your house too (this varies greatly from 7am to 4pm)
Something being sent out on Thursday is extremely unlikely to be delivered to yourself on Fri/Sat Saturday maybe at a push, unless you have paid a premium for next day delivery
I have also had stuff that has tried to be delivered, and its gone back or to a neighbour with no note pushed through my door, I also get recorded deliveries that dont have signatures (as postie sometimes just leaves stuff regardless)

Also, if the guy is posting through his 'work' and post is only on Thursday, if like most other companies collection is around 4pm (at least all the companies I have worked in, and believe me thats a lot, as it changes almost daily)
And even with out of office on, the email still gets to the recipient

It can be slightly frustrating
I bought some goods from ebay, won them few weeks ago, sent cheque, cheque cleared from my account on the morning of the 24th, sent the seller an email yesterday evening to be told that the money only appeared in their account friday morning (27th) so they would post this morning
Not really acceptable but not a lot I can do, as long as I get the goods is what matters, if I dont have them by tuesday, I will be driving to there house to collect the goods

If the chap only uses work email (like I do) for this sort of thing, he might just be off work due to illness/offline due to unforseen circumstances/IT problems.
Take a chill pill and wait until Monday.
