Be aware that they are running the Specs Camera system on the M1. It is currently set up on the gantries just after the Hemel Hempstead Junction and before the M25 turn off going South...

Be careful out there..

IIRC, they were there very late January as my Geodesy alerted me to it. Who knows if they were active or not then (no speed camera signs up)...

don't think they are active as this is our local stretch for shopping in Watford and (touches wood desparately ) nothing has ever happened. In fact, I don't recall ever seeing them!

IIRC, the M1 sort of turns to the right and straightens up where you get to the M25 exit slip. One of the nodes is around there...

One of the gantries. Been a while since I've done that stretch but hard shoulder side comes to match. No yellow marker boards or anything.

My Bluei warned of the M1 south SPEC camera's, just before the M25 junction.

You have been warned.

I heard somewhere you can put your numberplates on the sides of your car to avoid these?

They have been there for a few months now.

I only knew after EVO Magazine mentioned it a few months back.

I knew that they were supposed to be put in but fogot about it. Am slightly guilty over doing marginally over 70 every now and again and so far nothing - do this bit of road quite regularly too

Why doesnt everyone go ape$hit about this form of revenue collection like most people did with the poll tax. If there was mass hysteria about speed enforcement tactics the govt would have to back down. After all if they wanted to enforce the law properly and make EVERYONE stick to the limit there should be no fine but a two counts and your out approach ie 6 points and you lose your licence for a year. Now I am not saying this should happen, the point I am making is that they are shrouding the money being made in the "safety camera" approach. In other words if not about cash generation why not enforce the law as I suggest?
