Coming down the A3 to the roundabout before Bordon . . . probably slightly over a ton (not clever, I know). Maroon avensis appears behind me with alternating headlights. Pull over for him after roundabout, and get a sarcy look and wave. He just carried on though. Anyone had anything like this before. Do they post you a producer or what?

The car behind's a Toyota.

You had luck on your side, the look and wave was enough.

I've had the blue flashing light flicked on and off at me and a wagging finger.

Same thing happened to us with an unmarked Omega on the M1. Seems like they were on another job and just carried on after the little blue light flash. Still wondering if the black rat on the plate helped!

Never been stopped in the 15 odd years I've been driving (4 1/2 of those in the scooby).

Just lucky I guess..

Bravo -- same happened to me a few years back on the M62's long drag up to its highest point. I'm doing about 90, it's dark. Car approaches and pulls out to lane 3 to overtake. As it passes, I realise it's a fully-marked Senator ... they didn't even look across, just p1ssed past me at over the ton. Phew.

Another one was just at the start of the 62, leaving Liverpool in my old T4. A VR6 Golf gets right up my **** (I'm doing 80) so I move over, let him past then boot it. I start gaining, then see the headlights and blues flashing behind. Can't describe that sinking feeling in my guts of "oh ****, it's a pull" but he flashes past me, and half a mile down the road he's pulled the VR6 ... phew, again.

brickboy -- clean license, unlikely to stay that way.

Not in the Scoob, but I did once get stopped for doing 93mph on the M3 in a 1.2l Corsa. Oh the shame. I got let off, but not until the smart **** had walked round my car giving it the evil eye and had asked me, "So madam, exactly how much notice did you have to give this car to get it up to that speed?".

its not the size of the car engine - its the attitude of the driver My little 1.1 Rover was quite happy at some speeds that apparently were over the max speed for it. And now I've been let loose in a scoob and itr

Nope 23 and still got a clean license, this may have more to do with luck then my driving style.

Opps just remembered got busted in SA for being nearly twice over the posted limmit (90kmh/145kmh) but told the copper I had no intention of paying it as i was on holiday so he stopped writing it, Does that still count.

cheers guys . . . feel a bit better now . . . had time to think . . . **************, PMSL! Supposed to be hiring a car for my honeymoon in August, so you can see where I'm coming from. Just the idea of explaining to the bird she might have to drive on the right for a fortnight, in an automatic no less. That's me down to the speed limit . . . till at least August!

I was pulled over for going too fast round a roundabout in my old mk2 Golf. The guy followed me for a while and I knew he was going to pull me. I pulled into a layby to go into a shop and he parked up too. He followed me into the shop and asked if he could have a word. He asked me if I always went round roundabouts on two wheels! I told him that was an exaggeration; he then said that the way I took the roundabout led him to believe the car was stolen, and he'd been checking the car's details whilst following me. Told me that if he'd had a car with video equipment he would have had me. He gave me a producer and that was it. I know you can easily get the inside rear wheel off the ground in a Golf, but I doubt I'd even done this as it was wet and the car was sliding. It was all beautifully controlled though!!

Got stopped once after doing 105 on the M180 in my old Mk3 Escort. Luckily, someone pulled out in front of me on a dual carriageway stretch, and I had to brake hard. As I did so, I saw the Granny behind me:
he saw that I'd seen him, so I got the blues. He called me a "fukcing poseur in a flying coffin", so I pretty much knew it'd be a warning: and it was: apparently, they hadn't been able to get behind me for long enough, and then I had to brake hard which messed up their reading.
I never did find the guy who pulled out, to thank him:

Ha,

Been pulled 3 times for evidently doing next to nothing.

First time in my 106 Rallye, left a pub (hadnt been drinking) all my mates pissed up, coppers pulled me over gave me a breath test, then asked me to take the test again? I said why? they got shirty so I did, they couldnt beleive I hadnt been drinking and told me to be on my way, my mates started getting back in the car and they said " no you have to go now" and I said but my friends are still getting back into the ca they got shirty again at which point I ignored them, put my mates in the car and drove off. *****.

2nd time, went through an amber light, got pulled up 2 mins later having parked the car (Integra Type R). Copper pulls me over says "what colour was the light etc etc" his finishing statement was "nice car dont lose your licence over it" - like thanks.

Only a few months back in the Scoob. In southampton, just after a student had beeen murdered (high profile case) once again driving home from pub - VERY carefully due to high police presence got pulled over doing less than 40 in a 30 - dual carriageway lit road. Lady copper, just out of nappies on her own asked me what the speed limit was, I said I think its 40 and she said well no its 30 and you were doing 60! ? WTF - she then didnt bother to A: look at tax, tyres, exhaust, check the car was mine or anything. She then said - off you go, I can see you havent been drinking - even though all my mates were drunk laughing their heads off because it was so farsicle (sp?) oh dear.

Stopped four times within 12 days of picking up the scoob.

1st was just a nice friendly, mind how you go - we're watching you.

2nd time, same coppers, same road, same day, an hour later going in the opposite direction. Pulled me over and said " nice to see you took our advice"

3rd time, I'd been flying down the M9, blues behind me, 2 bikers, pulled me, had a look round the car. Got into a little conversation with them that this was the 3rd time pulled in a week. They both just laughed, off you go son.

4th time, 12 days after i bought the scoob, driving along passed the Race Course in Musselburgh, sees the cop car a mile off, checks speed, bang on 30. Thinks to myself, no worries here, copper steps out into the middle of the road and pulls me. Can't understand why and start to loose the rag (just a little) when the second copper jumps out the driver seat of the cop car. Thought "Oh $hit !" I'm in bother now....................
Looked up and both coppers pi$$ing themselves laughing, only then realised that one of the coppers was an old mate...ba$tard...took about 5 years off my life.

Still got a clean license. for now.

I was pulled up on friday evening (well early sat morning) a week ago driving home after a party... I was doing 50 in a 50 zone (km/h) and behind me I see the blue flashing lights so I pull over. The copper asks for my licence so I hand it over and I ask what was wrong - had I done anything etc.. He asked if I had been drinking and I said no (driving home you see), and he then procedes to ask me why I was doing 50km/h in a 50 zone!? and I then respond back "what, am I allowed to do more??!" to which he realised how stupid his question was and replied that most "normal" drivers at this time of day drive at least 10km /h over the limit,.. And only drunken people drive AT the limit Strange but true... Dont you love Germany

Never been done for speeding, but did get pulled over for doing an average of 48mph in a 30 limit once. Followed me for a while and then pulled me.

Thought that I was done, but he had a jouranlist in the rear who was doing a piece about speeding. Just got a producer

I really try not to speed now, especially as Northampton is so renowned.....

I have a nice clean licence

Complete and utter crap - old wives tale. If the policeman is on his own he can quite happily pull you over. He doesn't need another officer in the car, he doesn't need a calibrated speedo etc etc and all the b******* that normally gets written on threads like this.

What matters is the policeman's opinion. If, in his or her opinion you were travelling too fast they can have you. In court it will be his/her word against yours - who do you think they will believe?

Please don't rely on stuff like this to protect you.
