Thumbs up

[dons cardigan, slippers and watering can...]

both our front and rear lawn were, up until 6 weeks ago completely covered (and I mean covered) in weeds, despite running battles with the likes of Evergreen weed and feed, and almost every other 'off the shelf' lawn weedkiller from B&Q.

Nothing seemed to be working so I gave up with it and just set the blades on the lawnmower 1 notch closer to the ground (you can all die now!)

To cut a long & boring story short, we noticed a van in our street from a company called 'Green Thumbs' (Lawn treatments). So I wandered over and paid him a little over £15 to treat both our front and back lawns with his 'stuff'. Being skeptical I thought it would be a complete waste of money, but what the hell.....

Anyway, 6 weeks later we have not 1 single weed in either front or back lawns (not 1!) and both are thick and green!

Talk about does exactly what it says on the tin (or the van!)

Recommend this company to anyone with a lawn whos fed up with weeds, whatever they put in their strange handheld distribution machines works a treat.

No connection etc just amazed at the transformation. Certainly put pay to the 'concrete over both lawns' plan

[takes off cardigan, kicks off slippers and heads for the cold beer in the fridge )

I've probably still got the chaps number if anyones interested, I think its part of a UK franchise.

cheers.

Neil

I'm considering a mixture known as "concrete", apparently I won't even need to mow the lawn after application.

Why doesn't weed killer kill grass also?Is the grass just made of tougher stuff?

It only kills the usual dicots or broad leaved weeds i.e. plants with two cotyledons or seed leaves. The leaves of dicots usually have veins with a net-like appearance. Broadleaf weeds are considered dicots.

Grasses are monocots and have a different more resistant (to this type of weedkiller) celular structure.

If you apply enough weedkiller though most weedkillers will kill grass as well.
