There on sunday, a neigbour just sold me 2 entries+ grandstands (so at least the GF can sit down while i have a stroll round).

As far as I am aware there is no onsite camping - I think the nearest camping is at Fontwell.
As for the hotel on the Goodwood estate I am afraid you would have had to book last year, even as an invited entrant I have not been able to get a room there the last year or this year. Last year I had to stay with friends, this year the closest I could find was Bognor Regis and that was booked months ago. At a guess you would be lucky to get anything closer than Portsmouth and I am afraid I am being serious.
Check the Goodwood website for campsites, but from memory the one at Fontwell race course as mentioned above would be the best IMHO.

Yull belucky to finfd a hotel anywhere in the region at this late stage.
Most are booked months ago.
As for the Marriot thats reserved for guests of Lord March.
