How do I stop these boll0x texts coming through on my phone? Its bad enough on email without having your phone bleeping away with cr@p text messages all the time
BTW anyone feel free to call the number and claim my holiday or my £5000 cash

I've been getting a few of these recently. It's a PITA.
Register your mobile number with the Telephone Preference Service and that should cut it down, if not get rid of it altogether. It will take up to 28 days though.

Or phone 0800 500212 who deal with premium rate numbers. I had a similar message on a mobile - call 0906 1743800 using a landline. Took ages to get through but guy very helpful. Currently not illegal to leave mesage to ring unless promising something that isn't true. David.

If you SMS them back, it'll go nowhere, and will probably cost you a couple of quid. If you phone them, it'll cost you loads. The only other thing you could do is see if you can find out what company owns the premium line, and then complain to BT. But I suspect it'll make ****-all difference.
I just delete them....

Any BT phone directory has a list of 08 - Special Rate and 09 - Premium Rate numbers and, of course number like 0800 and 0808 which are Freefone. D

I received EXACTLY the same text message as stated in the first post, above. This was my first ever spam text message, and it pi$$ed me off. I called my provider, and asked them to take measures to ensure similar messages didn't get delivered in the future. The Customer Services advisor said they're powerless to stop it. Their suggestion was to register with the Telephone Preference Service. However, they did point out that the TPS isn't guaranteed to be effective against text messages.
So, I registered with TPS and also the Mailing Preference Service as well - to get rid of the junk that comes through the letterbox as well.
