As for dealing with our feathered friends in a roof type scenario.
I find that if left alone they will rear there young and be on there way soon enough.
What species of bird are they ?.
Oh bloody hell, Tim your not a tea pot, put that Badger down, and stop stuffing it

Turbo Picky

I contest that observation

I am old and grey, with matted facial hair, severe body odour and no friends. Oh sorry, I must be Badger Stuffer then.

Thumbs down

AFAIK, it's against the law to disturb a nest with young/eggs in it. Wait until the end of June, then I'd have it down, and block the hole with chicken wire or summat. Nests tend to allow damp in, retain it, and rot your timbers during Autumn/Winter.

block the hole with chicken wire
remembering to get permission from the chicken first, as this constitutes cruelty to birds as well.

good luck
