I get it but to me its more of an anoyance,I just feel like I've got a bad nose cold and my eyes and throat itch like mad.
The last couple of years I've used Beconase which you spray up your hooter and for me it removes all symptoms completly.

I use:
Opticrom eye drops
Beconase nasal spray
Piriteze tablets (1 a day, non-drowsy and bloomin' marvellous!)
All available over the counter and sometimes Boots do 2 for the price of 3 on hayfever stuff
I'm suffering with my eyes really badly at the moment which is odd because I'm normally over the worst of my hayfever by this time of year (I start in February )
I guess I must've developed a new allergy this year to a differnt type of pollen
Hope you find something that works for you and if you don't keep trying

my routine is, wake up sneeze at least 10 times ! put eye drops in (otrivine antistine) better than opticrom IMO, opticrom are more sticky and leave my eyes all crusty with sleep, Pop a Piriton tab and that normally helps me survive the day oh and also the willpower not scratch my eyes. Even managed yesterday in a Park with recently cut grass, with just my eye drops. !! i was amazed.
Bloke i work with paid £60 for the injection and still gets it.
Hayfever - otherwise known as gayfever, cos its pathetic.

Double dose clarytin for me at the moment ( one in a morning, one in an evening ).
Best stuff a I ever got was generic claritin from a french pharmacy - much stronger than we get over the counter. Unfortunately that's all gone now .

Mine's just ended...tree pollen for me ! BUT I use eye drops Opticrom works best for me. And if needed Beconase for the conk. I have heard that if you smear your nasal openings with Vaseline it traps any pollen and prevents it from getting up there. Also, if you know you're a hayfever sufferer, try a daily dose of LOCAL honey before the onset, this has a like beating like effect.
Other than that , just be careful with any hayfever preparation, they are real meaty drugs and should be treated with respect.

get this bad, a few years ago i used to go to the doctors and have the injection (untill they realised this killed people), now i just suffer when its bad and take normal tablets. Doesnt matter what you have for tablets they dont work well enough.
Rumor has it that if you eat a lot of local honey to where you like you build up your own natural immune system to hayfever.
Your not alone, it sucks.

Don't you mean it blows
Tree pollen is what starts my hayfever off but luckily i only get mild hayfever so i don't need any medicines through the day.

yeah probably the worst symtoms of hayfever has to be the runny nose and itchy eyes, annoying because your probably gonna go through a couple of packets of tissues in just one day and doesn't really look attrective when you go to town and a girl sees you blowing more snout out of your nose than a lil kid.

i felt well sorry for a girl i work with on friday nights she looked like **** because of hayfever, she could hardly see or nowt. made me glad that i dont get it that bad but its bad enough if ya know what i mean. i just cane about a third of a packet of Hayfever tablets a day and im happy, that one a day is bollox they dont work.

do what I do. Get some vaseline and shove it up your nose. Smear it on the inside of the nostrils. The idea is the pollen sticks to the vaseline before it can get into your nose and cause the irritation. It works and is really cheap as I use one of those lip therapy tins a month. total cost? 99p.
seiously try it, it works.

Piriteze works best for me out of all te tablets. I've tried everything, and have had hayfever for 25 years (I'm 28).
Beconase kinda works, but taking it is the pits.
The piriteze uses Cetirizene (sp) like Zirtek, but you can buy it from the Pharmacy in packs of 30 for about £7.50 (tesco pharmacy). You have to ask, as usually the Zirtek is like £4-£5 for only 7 tablets.
I also get asthma with my hayfever, and some years have taken Becotide daily, and ventoline when wheezy. Not so bad these days though, and the Piriteze helps with all syptoms.
If you want full on protection you need.
Your choice of one a day tablet.
Eye drops
Nasal Spray
Inhalers
But at the moment, I only take the Piriteze.

A recent tablet to come onto yhe market contains nothing more than onion, so I tried eating a couple of pieces of raw onion every now & again, seen some improvement.
Also, no medical proof to this one, but Fishermens Friends seem to clear it up too ! Plus they make Guinness taste brilliant.

Hubby suffers quite bad.......and this year has been worse than before!!!
Anyway, reading one of my `alternative therapies`....I have given him Vitamin C tablets, but you must `overdose` on it.......meaning you take TWO tablets a day, not one. Start taking it as soon as the season starts and carry on until it`s finished, if you start later, it still works but may need a day or two to get working.
You wont get any side effects, (well only the runs if you go over the top)
I have told quite a few people now and they are all......`hayfever free`.
Joan.

Taking too much vit C is a waste of time, you'll just pee it out. The body can't store vit C.
More natural choice I have been told, but not tried, is Butter Burr.
Personally I found Benodryl Plus was a miracle cure. Best summer I ever had first time I tried it. Pity that was 2 years ago and it doesn't work for me anymore.
I agree with the vaseline up the nose trick. As a regular mountain biker I find this does help some.
HF really gets me down and makes me very grumpy. My full sympathies to my fellow sufferers.

I used to take Clarityn (Loratidine) but this year it has no effect. Im now on Benadryl. Get all your tablets on prescription as its a lot cheaper (esp if you get them free). I got 84 Benadryl tablets the other week for £6.30. In the local pharmacy they cost £4.45 for 12 over the counter and they are the same ones they gave me.
Im gonna have to try the honey trick as well.

Piriton always works for me, eyes werent too bad though to begin with if that makes any difference.
Have used beconase and rhinolast but prefer just to take piriton it seems to get to work faster. Works well on my cat alergy too.
