Has anyone seen this, what a bizzare film
What was it actually about - It was a mint film with some mega scenes such as the useless hitman, the director/wife/poolboy - and dont forget the beautifully shot lezza bits
I sort of got the jist that Camile and Betty were one and the same, and Camile was Betty when she had become obsessed with Rita ( The older dark haired beuty with tremendous fun bumps ).
But then Betty and Rita saw the Dead Camile on the bed didn't they ?
Or am I wasting my time, and the film is not meant to be "understoond" at all.
worth a watch all the same.

Yeah seen it thought, it was a great film. One of the better 'understandings' of the films is here http://www.pitchforkmedia.com/watw/0...nd-drive.shtml
Read it and you'll get lots of 'now I get it' moments. Nice explanation of those opening dream sequences...

Course, there's tons more to explain: the cowboy, the bum, the audition, the hit man, Robert Forester... not all of it can be explained (at least not if you've only seen it twice). On some levels, the movie is just plain impenetrable. On others, if you look closely enough, you'll find some obvious and not so obvious clues Lynch left behind. Much of this movie was shot as a TV pilot for ABC and many of the mysterious characters that appear for only moments in the movie were meant to be developed over the course of a television season. Many of the scenes look like they could have aired during primetime without a hitch. But after ABC rejected it, Lynch regrouped the cast and went out to shoot the scenes that would complete the movie, effectively distilling a year's worth of TV into one film. No wonder some parts are hard to understand. Either way, the more you read the first part of the movie as the dream of a suicide victim, the more things start to make sense.
I knew that, I wanted to know what it was really about
