Or to be more precice - manure.

I am going out to get some from a place I saw last night, thats giving it away.

The soil in our garden is just normal topsoil, and I got a lad from work to dig it over ( you don't have a dog and bark yourself do you ).

Now its all broken up, and nice and loose, I want to get some manure in there. Is it possible to put too much in, or does anyone know a rule of thumb amount per cubic metre of soil.

Ta,

Mike.

I think you'll be fine with 3 bags even in a really small garden, as my other half bought a lorryload (about 4 tons:eek) for our 100ft X 50ft back garden, while I was away on business. The neighbours loved us on hot days, not, but it did make a difference to the flowery bits.

Wink

Have alot of experiance of carting this stuff as my wife has a horse. The one thing to be careful with fresh poo, it'll look clumpy and very moist, is that it can burn plants (don't know how). If it is old stuff that has rotted down to look like good quality soil then bung on what you want, don't think that will do any harm at all.
