I have just been to the supermarket and purchased a salad bowl for lunch. Halfway through I noticed a slug type insect. It was on my fork ready to eat when I noticed it. What should I demand when I take it back and what am I likely to get.

I always laugh when this happens.
Surely it means the salad has NOT been treated with insecticide and is therefore more organic......
I feel happier finding things in stuff like that. It's only a slug - won't kill you.......

I have just taken it back. I got my £1.79 back and they send it of to be checked out. I should get some vouchers or something.

If I remember right, the first ever case of someone sueing someone for damges for personal injury was down to this kind of thing. A woman drank some ginger beer back in the 1800s that had a decomposed slug in it. It made her violently ill. She sued and got shed loads of damages.
If I were you, I'd chop it in half and throw one half away. Say you ate it and demand a year's supply of Stella from the supermarket!
Seriously, take it back and speak to the manager. If you push a bit, without being cheeky, they'll probably agree to a lot more than just your money back, as if you were to take it further it would cost them a lot. Don't DEMAND anything , just see what they say and if they don't offer anything, start mentioning the words Environmental Health and see what happens.
Cheers
