Safe? For who? You or the birds?
It's illegal to disturb a nest during breeding season, so leave it until the end of June or so, then climb up, remove all traces, and block whatever hole they are getting in by, if it's in a building. I did it with chicken wire when we had sheps nesting in our roof once.

Hmm... so a quick blast with the pressure washer isn't a good idea?

Towzer yep no probs you giz a shout, don't know what you have heard about my car but it is nothing special it is just another Impreza 
I am going to be in england for the 1st week or so of August around reading area then down to saltash in Cornwall so when are you coming to BBN.?
