these foward fasing one, what are they?
Gatso?? or Digital?
Just ONE fasing you as you drive towards it on country roads.
will my BELL Victor Europe speed detector pick up on them???
well mine didn't go off!
I know the Digital cameras in Nottm have two set at say 1/2 mile intervls... and they time you between the cameras.
What what about these Big Yellow/Blue boxes on the side fasing you???
Last night on the way to Boston Lincs.... i went passed one.. as i over took a slower car!!!.. LoL
I'd be going more than 60 to get passed the car... so i'd be on the other side of the road also too!!!!
Do you think it will 'GET ME'???
will i lose my license??????????
does someone come to your door and serve me with a warrant for my arrest and conficate the car?
No WIND ups please ppl.. i've had a sleepless night as it is!!!

Arn't the camera's your talking about Truvelo's
They activate via sensors in the road so NO RADAR
GPS detectors like my Road Angel will pick them up
Fingers crossed my friend

Phil,
It sounds like a TruVelo front facing camera using film.
It uses a infrared flash gun so you don't see it taking a photo and Piezo Road Strips to calculate your speed.
No radar detectors will pick them up only GPS units.

It depends whether the measuring strips go all the way across the road. On the newly installed Truvelos where I live, they don't, so the other side of the road seems reasonably safe.

Any legal types out there.
Because these Truvelo cameras take a pic of the front of your vehicle, motorcycles will get away with it because they obviously have no front number plate and their identity is somewhat obscured by that bucket on their head. Doesn't this make their use unfair and effectively victimises car drivers rendering them inadmissible.
Just a thought ?

Usually the strips dont go all the way across the road. I guess the only way to put your mind at ease is to go back and check. Obviously this is only viable if its nearby.
Thats how you see so many people tank straight up to them and then brake just before you hit the strips. They are usually only a couple of meters in front of the camera so they arent a long range system by any means.
Corradoboy - the bit about the bikes is true but you need big ***** and some money if you think you can try that one in court. IIRC only one person has managed to get away on that provisio.
Simon.

So if you swerve to the other side of the road you can go as fast as you like? Well that's a major contribution to road safety then.
About as safe as the sign in the middle of a village on the road from the Fosse to Warwick. It says speed limit 30 mph and then displays your actual speed!! High score anyone?
T*ss*rs the lot of them.
