Have been thinking for a while now of enquiring about a job swap type thing. I have yet to approach our commander of personnel however the boss is very open minded and is all for exciting new ventures such as this.
I think I would be able to sort something out with a place called Pleasanton (sp) in California as our town is twinned with it and the ties between the fire stations are quite tight.
There are one or two things that will stall my travels though.
My GF is leaving her work (in a few weeks)to go and do a years teachers training (Joy! A year of scrimping and living on pasta) after which she gets a years placement so we will have to wait until she has done that
Has anyone else gone and done anything similar ??
Pros and Cons ?.............will I just want to stay there ?
What sort of paperwork is involved ?
Fancy a couple of years and there should be good ££ over there in my GF's field (chemistry)
All a bit hypothetical atm but as I say, can’t shake the thought from my head.
