"premium rate" chat lines - are you mad

I work in TV, and lets just say one of our tellies has "all" the channels on SKY.
Was just watching some cr4p on one of the supposed adult channels, total rubbish........anyway, every advert is trying to appeal to single guys wanting to chat. Fine, if thats your caper(personally Id rather go down the boozer ), but they charge £1.50 min!!!! Who is using this service??? do they have more money than sense, I thought running a scooby was expensive but that is just mental!
Im amazed in this day and age people would pay this much to chat to some fat munter pretending shes a page 3 girl.......

have to agree with the lameness of the **** channels on sky. now if u have a dish that can move then there is palco, kioske, taquilla, TPS plus all the 24/7 channels as well. these seem to show a much better version of **** for those of us who are liberal broad minded adults
cheers

Anyone see the program 'Your Money or Your Life' on BBC2 the other week? It featured a woman who'd spent £17,500 on premium-rate 'Psychic Lines' in one year. In one month she did [n]£3,500[/b] on these things, but she reckoned she'd only called 'em once every couple of days.
The calls they featured were quoted as saying the charges were a minimum of £1.50/minute - so Christ-knows what the maximum was?!?!
Strikes me as blatantly irresponsible of BT not to have queried her usage after it exceeded, say, a grand a month?!
