Well as i write the depression is setting in as another Southport Dance Music Weekender has drawn to a close. Yet another blinder, and these are the highlights...
Friday:
After about 7 pints down the Sands (over the road from Pontins) it was a Pot Noodle dinner and then out for a good knees up.
Jon Cutler - excellent, superb, hope he comes back
The Ice Bar - Oh my god Totty central, ace music.
Bobby & Steve - another good set
DJ Swerve in the Funkbase - cuttin and scratchin.
Saturday:
After a load more lager and curry, it was ontot he best of the 2 nights.
In the Powerhouse, Terry Hunter played a storming set. Arnold Jarvis did a "so so" PA and was followed by Michelle Weeks with an awesom display of vocal talent. Then it was the turn of Louie Vega. He was pure class, with a high point being him playing Donna Summer - I Fee Love, Onsulade - Change For Me and MAW - Backfired. Onsulade did a very good PA, and then the night was finished off my mr Joey Negro in true disco house fashion.
Didnt go in the Funkbase much, except briefly for Soul II Soul in the afternoon, but the Ice Bar was as good as Friday night.
Big shout to anyone who was there, see you in November....
Dave

Oh, forgot to say, we saw Shrek (Danny from Hearsay) and he was having a damn good boogie and is a top bloke after chatting with him. Just a shame that everyone was staring and pointing at the poor bloke.
