Everyone knows it is illegal to show blue lights on your car so why do people deliberately do it and then complain when they get caught??????
Blue lights on your stereo or guages is just unfortunate but there is no excuse for sticking blue pin lights or LEDs on the outside of your car, your just asking for trouble.

Saxo? Why the hell would I want a saxo for when I have a MY96 Turbo!
Besides the lights I was refering to are on a sparate switch so I can have then on or off without affecting the main lights! Besides, from the placement they are very disreet in the daylight, and not to bright!
It's Just something to be a little different from the norm!

I got pulled over tonight on the way to work, wasn't doing anything wrong or driving too fast.
I had overtaken the police car on a short stretch of dual carriage, gone right at the next roundabout, then noticed they were following, which surprised me as they had been in the wrong lane to go right ... next thing flashing lights, so i pull over. The copper comes up and says, whats that blue light?.... pointing to my HKS boost gauge on the A pillar .. LOL.
I told him what it was and he was happy with that and left ..
Anyone else been stopped for having a blue gauge before?
Gary

They must be getting touchy about blue lights on non-police cars.
Yes, they are cracking down. The LED lamp silliness doesn't do anything other than reduce the impact of catching sight of a blue light, so they're cracking down.

As Chiark says, there is a crack down, and it's exactly for the reasons mentioned, as in it's hard enough to get past vehicles with sirens and headlights and blue lights, without a bunch of "Kev's" driving around with those stoopid blue led's on making other people become desensitised to them.
NB: no offence to anyone named Kev...unless you're a boy racer with led's and the like

I got chased by a Police T5 for about 3 miles once when I had a blue headlamp cover on my bike - they only got me coz I stopped to wait for my mate after I thought they'd given up, which was perhaps a little naiive. They weren't happy but in the end were fine about it and let me off with a £20 fixed penalty. They also said, "it's lucky we didn't catch you back there coz you were going some, weren't you?" which made me laugh.

L @ STi wanna subaru ... true!! ..... hummm wonder if i get the same
They do give quite a glow at night these direct bright HKS guages, i have thought of putting a resistor in-line to dull it down a bit.

i had a green light cover for my ZX-9 which amused me a lot and moved traffic out of the fast lane from abt 3 miles away! i was caught too having sprinted away, off down an exit and parked up off the road in some trees. to be fair to the boys concerned they were more than tolerant of a) the above b) the not very mitigating green headlamp, illegal can, minute reg plate, and blue iridium visor. they were actually laughing as they told me every bike which tries to get away parks up at the same spot, gave me a warning and let me go. VERY decent blokes if you ask me.
