Apparently there is a trial going on for this at the moment. Norwich Union telematics in cars to track your movements an this way you only pay insurance for the driving you do and where you do it.

It seems simple but I guess there will be problems.

Is this the beginning of the end, the Government want to use telematics to do congestion charging too

What next, mandatory safety based GPS systems to control speed, lane support and safe following???

It does look bleak......

So if your car is parked up then it is not insured?

i would of thought it would have a set charge for being parked up a year i.e. garaged, driveway etc. then mileage on top good, cause i only do a couple of thousand a year, when do we start?

yeah, they'll say it's cheaper to have it running 24 hours a day cause no one can nick it while your doing 40mph this is really a bad idea, who in their right mind would think this going to work
