A mate of ours got done by one becuase the car in front of him wouldn't pull forward on the road. Becuase the tail end of his truck cleared the junction (not a box junction) after the light turned red, he got done!

Spot who didn't read the first post properly
I don't think roadwork lights have cameras on them unless I've been lucky. You used to be able to get them to change by putting the headlights on full beam so that the sensor was triggered but don't know if that works now

Temporary traffic lights (if set up right) normally work by means of a movement sensor. There will be a sensor above the light head that should should be pointed at the position where cars should be queueing.

If you encounter temporary lights please do not 'jump' the red. I use lights as part of my work and have seen some accidents and numerous near misses from idiots 'chancing it'. On some roads we have actaully asked the police to attend (this from a Scooby owner!) to nick red-light jumpers because of the danger to other road users and my guys working in the road.

Yeah I only went throu a red about a second after it changed, but because i had a cyclist in front it me, it took me ages to get throu the road works and therefore the light at the other end was red for a while. With quite a few irate drivers I may add. First time I have ever risked this and as I am looking for a scoob I really wouldn't appreciate the 3 point red light fine. The insurance is enough as it is.
