Nice places to get married in Scotland.

RUSTY How can you be so bloody nasty?
How about Norton House hotel? Richard Branson owns it, or he did (cant really remember).
CEL and I are tying the knot sometime in the near future (near future being about 5 years time ), our problem is I am from Edinburgh and he is from Sheffield, so trying to get both our families and friends together all at once is going to be a pain in the back side as there is so many of them . We will probably end up doing it abroad
If I do get married in the UK I want a castle in the country side, white roses everywhere and big deep red, cream and gold drapes and candles and .........
errrr, enough about mines.
What do you want? Castle, church??

LOL, just kidding
In my defence I lived in Scotland (Aberdeen to be specific) for nearly six years and it was ok - plenty of nice country houses on Royal Deeside - how about Ardoe House where they have the RSOC meets think there is a show in a couple of weeks

I work in a beautiful castle hotel just outside Perth. Do weddings for up to about 50 people, have the whole thing there and we can even do fireworks at night for you. We had the GMTV wedding there about 18 months ago.

A mate got married at Borthwick Castle, just outside Edinburgh. One of the best weddings I've been to.
Another plus is that if you go up on the Thursday before, you get a second stag night in George Street
Flights from City or Stanstead into Edinburgh are cheap too.

We had our honeymoon in Scotland (in December ) and enjoyed it so much we moved up here 2 years later.
A couple of hotels we stayed at which might be good for either the wedding or honeymoon:
Lock Torridon Hotel, which is beautiful and in the most incredible surroundings. Food was pretty good, and the hotel itself has lots of turrets and stuff - good for backgrounds for the wedding pics.
Flodigarry Hotel on Skye. Beautiful location, and homely atmosphere. Highly recommend it.
Cringletie in Peebles. A fantastic country house hotel, in beautiful grounds - perfect for a wedding. We've spent Hogmanay there for the last 2 years running, too. What makes it special though, is the service quality and the homely atmosphere. It was our stay there that persuaded us to move here.
HTH, Mark.

You guys can borrow the East wing of my castle if you want.....should be able to give the servants the day off to give your guests a bit more space
Rates negotiable
Tis a bit small though so if you could keep the numbers down to around 6,000 that would be appreciated
However if that's not to your liking then I have heard that Dalhousie Castle is 'no too bad' at the old weddings

My mate got married at http://www.dalhousiecastle.co.uk/welcome.htm
It was great, but the bar service at night was pants.

Glengorm Castle is the place for you, on Mull of course. Web doesn't specifically mention weddings but give Tom or Marj a ring/email and they'll let you know the deal.

Welcome mate, glad to hear you've somewhere booked. Think I might have a logistical nightmare trying to fit 98 people in for a feed.
Good luck and best wishes for the big day. If you're ever up this way, pop into the castle for a look.
