Hi All
I was just on the A414 between the A10 and Harlow and got buzzed by a Black or dark blue helicopter (no markings). It flew low in front of me and other cars as if clocking our speeds & number plates. Just prior a police car had gone the other way. This all happened before the 50 mph zones (still in the National speed limit zone).
Questions...
1. Is it a Police Helicopter ??????
2. Can they actually do you for speeding ??????????
All the best
Pete

Ooh er! I use the 414 to Harlow every day to and from work, looks like I'll have to look up as well now. Pity as I've had some interesting 'test runs' against various cars along there e.g. Jag XJR this morning. It seemed to be gradually putting some distance on me although we both hit the sensible switch after a minute or so.

Remember the A414 is where someone got nicked, and subsequently put inside, for 130.
Be careful out there guys (those bloody ridges on the bridge are a PITA at a reasonable lick... )

Was the helicopter Blue in colour with a huge 40mm cannon in front of it (you won't miss it)? If it is then its definately a cop chopper.
Speaking of choppers who would win? Blue Thunder or Airwolf?

Well its not fair. Airwolf has 2 small guns whereas Blue Thunder have a big big gattlinh chain gun thingy.
edit: That cant be Airwolf 2 because the Airwolf shown was Airwolf 2 and the other one is a knockoff. Remember when the first Airwolf went boom?

How much does a helicopter cost to run per hour? I'm not sure of the exact figure but I do know that it is not cheap.
What a waste of resources to check people for speeding using a helicopter. This country is sick and getting worse every day. It seems that the powers that be are obsessed with speeding and ignore the harder to prove but equally dangerous practices that happen on our roads.
