Anyone know if there is a 'correct' serving temp for Rioja? I have always served around 18c but have been informed by an 'expert' this evening that it should be served at 15c. As a newbie to wine appreciation I would take his word for it, but I find that it tends to kill off the fruits and the oakiness. For the real buffs we were discussing this over 3 bottles of 1991 Rioja Muga Prado Enea Gran Reserva.

Did you ever notice that by the third bottle alcoholic cat **** would probably go down just as well?

Personally i like reds on the warmer side, but here's the "official" guide, for what it's worth. 1994 and 1995 were both fantastic Rioja vintages.
