Diablo - maybe I am just a very unadvanced life-form, but I think a bit of childish double entendre is perfectly ok, as long as it isn't expressly designed to be offensive. If you want to be ultra PC you could say that the turkey thread was out of order for the intended meaning of "bird" - however there was genuine culinary info in there as well. I think there's got to be a bit of live and let live here.

Humour, I love their humour nothing else I just like to see them laugh thats all so what if I like to watch their laughs and jolly japes in showers after games. Its not just me is it all the other teachers do it as well.

I don't like it. Which is why I don't read a lot of people's posts, and why I switch off a thread if it starts to wander.
But if you are talking about locking or banning, I think you will have great difficulty drawing the borderline.

I agree with ProperCharlie.
What gets me mad about this BBS at the moment is that threads get deleted and no explanation is given. The first Mayo thread was not too bad. A little cheeky and probably destined for the Muppets but that was all IMHO.
I really do think that this BBS is suffering from over moderation. There has to be rules and guidelines but some mods seem to take their power to vape threads a little too far.
Maybe there should be a ods league to track which ones are going over the top.
Just my 2p.....

Tel, I haven't seen much name calling. AFAICS the topic which is giving rise to the most personal abuse is people moaning about their threads being deleted over in SN Policy

Sorry OT again, but don't you think that there's so much RTM going on as people are engaging in a bit of retaliatory action for their own stuff being modded? Ie if I can't have my toy, I'm gonna stamp on all the other toys type of thing.

Sorry Diablo but I think Proper Charlie has made a good point.
There's a small but significant amount of RTMs, usually from the same people, complaining about fairly inoffensive posts which they obviously feel bear a similarity to posts/thread of of theirs that were edited/deleted.
Having said that, most express genuine concerns.

I disagree with Diablo. Not sure what his stance is but I feel I have to disagee as a matter of principle, cos I am not a mod and mod bashing is the new not mod bashing type thing.
Anyway - here is my 2 cents (Euro) worth (thats about 1.4p give or take a battle victory)
The mods are the mods because SDB deems them to have some sense. People who are not mods are not mods because they didn't ask or they are plonkers (I am scared to ask in case I find out)
SDB runs the show and should have 100% backing from everyone who wants to be in the show. If you disagree with his views - **** off and find a board where you agree.
I own my house and when I have a party it is an open invitation. When someone steps outside what I decide is common decency I throw them out. Look at this place as SDB's personal party, not as your personal space to make a dick of yourself.
How would you like someone coming to your party and offending others just for the craic?
