Our terrace had a cat, called Trevor, he died today He didn't belong to anyone, he just used to visit everyone on the terrace, he was the nicest little cat you could wish to meet
However, some coward has hit him, presumably with a car and left him for dead in the street I've just buried him, and cleaned the street, it was the most awful thing I've ever had to do
Bye Trevor

Not good Bob
We had to put down Sal's Staffie Grizzly last night. He was 16 years old so he had done pretty well, but it was still sad to see him go.

Thanks guys
Sorry to hear your news Chris n Sal
The really annoying part of today for me is that whoever did this knows full bloody well they did it, he took a big hit to the head, an eye had come out and they just left him. It's not like it's a quiet street either, it's one of the main roads through the village, a lot of the primary school kids pass this way and knew Trevor, I would of hated for them to have seen him in the state he was
Anyway, I don't spose there's anything that can be done now

Sorry to hear that Bob, and yes, I know what it's like to have a cat run over. Thankfully mine is still with us this time. He won't be getting the opportunity to risk the rest of his lives however.......

The only thing you can say is that maybe it was done by someone who didn't know him, hence didn't know who to go to, in order to tell someone.
I had two cats run over and killed, years ago, living down a 3 car a day cul-de-sac. Local kids brought the first back, and I found the second in a black bin-liner on my doorstep when I came home one evening, but neither driver owned up.:
Perhaps they are afraid of retribution?

Im so sorry to hear that.
I no exactly how your feeling one of mine was killed last night i really do feel devastated . I took him to the emergency vets but he was killed on impact. Thats two weve had killed now and both toms. Our female ones never wander thank god.
So if anyone thinking of getting a cat get a female as they tend not to wander as much.

I would much rather someone knock on the door and put it to me that they had just run over my cat than wonder where it is.
Cats, by nature, are funny creatures though, on reflection maybe is it better that you don't have answer the door to a person that has just flattened your pet ? -
One of ours went for a Burton for 3 weeks - first 2-3 days worried, next few days presumed run over - couple of weeks after, the mourning was over and things got back to normal. Then one night a phone call " we have a cat in our garage with your phone No on it's tag"
Now if that call had never come we would not have known either way - but at least we were over it.
I personally would knock on and tell the owner - maybe some people are just cowards - or are they sparing the owner some grief?

Thanks again Not a good time to be a cat is it
I can handle him being run over, in a manner of speaking....I can except it was an accident, if it was an accident It's the not telling anyone bit the gets me! I'd be far more inclined to batter whoever it was now than if they'd stopped at the scene! I think when I found him it could only of been 2-3 minutes tops since he was hit

Sorry Bob
Huxley Chicks Cat has been hit twice now the last time it had to have it's tail choped off but it's all ok now but sometimes it looks like a hare when it wanders around.
This cat goes for miles on walkabouts

Can understand your grief and anger Bob, but you can't always tell anyone.
I've hit two:, when I was taxi driving. One ran off, trailing blood everywhere: , and the other was dead on impact: , but in the centre of a large junction, at 3am! So how/who do you tell? The police aren't interested, and most peeps wouldn't want to be woken by some knackered cabbie at 3am, asking if it's their cat....in some cases, even if it was
