David Bowie
I'm really getting into his music. Slowly, I am collecting all his albums. I've been reading some old articles/interviews on the internet, and was also very impressed by him when he was on Parkinson's show about six months ago.
Does anyone like him and his music?

I have 'The Man Who Sold The World'. Slowly I am working my way through them. I have 'Heathen' too which I really like. I've heard of a lot of people saying they don't like his new stuff. What is it that you don't like about it?
I thought he sucked too - but over the last few years my girlfriend has got me into him (not literally - he saved that sort of carry on for Mick Jagger apparently) and I think some of his stuff is amazing, even the duller stuff usually grows on you.

He's obviously a very intelligent man. This is evident especially when you hear him speak or read an interview. It makes me want to find other interesting music that is being released today. I find chart music pretty uninspiring, but there must be other stuff that just has no hope of making it into the charts. But how do you find out about it? The radio stations just repeat the same old thing all the time.
John Peel? He has some intresting stuff usually. (not all of it)
What wrecked Bowie was when he 'made it' in the States and turned into a big Stadium act, and lost his origonal backing band (The Spiders From Mars). Then the music went all 'mainstream'.
Also it's worth video taping The Whistle Test Years tonight on BBC2 at 11:35. All live stuff from the Bowie era.
Have you got 'Alladin Sane'? That's a cool Bowie album
