My girlfriend had a bag nicked on a recent business trip to Dublin. She paid for the accomodation by Mastercard and paid for the flight by Switch. Would she qualify for the Mastercard travel insurance?

I think you'll find that most of these credit card insurance offers cover travel and travel only. They very rarely cover theft or illness or accident. Moral of this story: you never get anything for nothing !
