Mods, I have posted this in computer related and it has only had 7 views in total. Could this be left here for a wee while go get a wider audience please

I am going to have a look at a prob a neighbour is having with her computer.
She recieved mail from Freeserve telling her that she must download a 'connection pack' from the FS website however the download wont complete.
She has uninstalled firewall and other things such as hotbar, google bar, all that kind of stuff and still no joy.
She has spoken to the helpline but is still no further forward.
She runs XP. Anyone had any experience with this ??

It worries me that she feels I am a computer whizz as my system is in a hell of a state right now !!!

Have you tried downloading the file with a third party program such as download accelerator http://www.downloadaccelerator.com This often works for me when I cant complete a download.

Don't use the download. Just use the username password and phone number and create a new connection.
