You must have seen this word in big letters, usually on motorway bridges ? Does anyone know what it means and why it is there ?

Theres' a few explanations:
it's an alternative rock band - seems unlikely explanation
it's the krishna word for "be happy" - could be that
it's a gang name - based in London (could be that I guess)

No I don't think its who built the bridge, the "stickers" don't look profesional enough. Its as though they've bent over the bridge to stick them on...

its some sort of group set up by set up by students (probably raking in millions from lottery funding)dont really know what they do , they sell crap , and graphiti bridges and stuff , its more a kin of sect , gy tryed to tell me all about it in the pub one night but told him i had to go as i could hear my mum calling me home for tea

Theres loads of these nutters in doncaster town centre. They always collar you and always try to make you say gouranga. I always reply with f**k off and they still smile lol.
They've got them on all the bridges round here.
