27% increase.
And I know it's nothing to do with my MP but can I just get it off my chest here - One of the most important votes in parliament for a long time last night...and the ****** didn't even show up!
What do we pay these wasters for?

Yeah, mine is over £2k here in Edinburgh too - and dunno what the increase will make it :-(((((
Think Edinburgh one of most expensive in UK - I remember seeing that some place in London (Kensington or something) is about £500 or something - not fair!!!!

£2600 for us in Glasgow - fantastic, glad I'd funding the excessive social problems in our area! up 6% on last year 'cos they pissed money away playing on the stock markets and continue to fund final salary pension schemes that the rest of the world is walking away from.

Mine's in the region of £1600.
What really makes me cross is that our local council has only existed for a few years, and when they talk of increases, they ALWAYS mention the "average over the last 4 years", said average being about 6%
They ALWAYS forget to mention the 75% increase we all got over the first couple of years, when we were the highest in England!!

Ours is band D and about £1100. Dad cunningly left the bill where I'd see it.... he's trying to make me feel guilty and pay more board, he can **** off
I think it went up 17% or so locally and all we get is lower speed limits and chicanes that send you into oncoming traffic... oh and traffic lights that stop you for no good reason

Mine is over £2k in Edinburgh, and the house is not big at all.
Detached, 4 bedrooms, but quite compact - a normal sized bungalow type thing. Nothing special. I would say an average size house.

18% rise in sussex here
40% of it to the police which in Burgess Hill for example the station is only open Monday - Friday 9am to 5pm the rest of the time its shut and they have to come from the next town Haywards heath if a burglar/rapist/mugger/crim happens to attack you outside of office hours.....
and we all shouted at the tories about poll tax (i was in scotland at the time) at least we had local bloody policeman then!

imlach, it's the area then obviously, rather than house size, although normally the bigger the house the bigger the council tax bill.
so, if you have a huge house in a very good area, your going to be in the higher bands.

Up 16.6% here in Shropshire, a cumulative 73% in the last 5 years.
Very definitely beyond a joke, I reckon, but they are building nice shiny new council offices here for the *******.

On the basis of what I've read here - I'll shut up Although our increases our a bit of a joke, in the grand context of things, they don't seem too bad compared to a lot of people on here.
