Question

Seen this as a headline this morning, and on the breakfast TV.
Very sad, but am I missing something? Just WTF was she doing in a canoe/raft, in a raging torrent with 3 little kids, 6, 4, and 1 year old???
And not wearing a life jacket herself?

That's exactly what my wife said to me this morning when watching the telly.
The pics they showed of the river made it look pretty swollen and rough. It looked like the sort of river you only go on one of those large group raft things with all the kit and experienced guides.

Went kayaking in Wales the other week,
More or less flat water.
Wore every type of safety equipment going.
Didn't leave three orphans.
Commiserations to the family, but what was she thinking?

I know they must have been daft, or maybe just mis-guided, though it is still very sad. Story said it was calm when they set off..

They had an internet diary

Very sad indeed - and strange - She get kids aged 6, 4 and 1 to safety then gets swept away herself - to get the kids safe she must have been in fairly shallow water - suspect there is more to this
