Anyone here accept payments using PayPal ?
A couple of Q's . . . .
For a standard personal account what types of payment can you accept ? Credit/Debit cards ?
Is there any charge for accepting these payments ?
Thanks

A personal account is free, there are no charges. However you cannot accept credit OR debit cards.
If someone pays you with a credit/debit card you will have to upgrade your account to accept it. The down side is that then you will be charged for ALL payments you take.
You can downgrade your account to a personal one afterwards but you can only do this ONCE.
Many people use two accounts one personal to accept cleared funds and another premier to accept credit cards.
UK buyers can only get funds into their paypal account by receiving payment from someone else. US and German account holders can upload to their paypal account from a bank account.
I take lots of paypal payments and although I don't like the fees buyers like the convenience and it probably compares favourably with a merchant account.

You may want to look at FastPay from NatWest bank if the payments are from the UK. They only have one charge at the moment, 20p to send a payment. Everything else is free including transferring the money to your bank account.
www.fastpay.co.uk don't be confused by the big thing they make about using your mobile, that is just another option not mandatory.
