Has anyone else noticed that diesel is suddenly 5p a litre more than NUL?

The petrol companies have been a bit stealthy with this, on Weds. night diesel in all the stations round Macclesfield went from 78.9 to 80.9, while NUL dropped from 77.9 to 75.9.
Optimax / SUL remains at 81.9 / 82.9. What's the game there then?
Craig (new diesel driver, so a bit p*ssed off)

Dunk -- can't our lads siphon some out of the Yanks' lorries? They're already having to buy rations off the US forces
89.9 for SUL's a bit of a skank ... at that rate it's almost worth getting a remap for 95RON ....

Another Rant!
I'm glad diesels going up - it will mean all the people buying dirty particulate emiting diesels will have to pay more for their miles. In addition they pay more for their cars initially. All in all I'm pretty glad that they will end up paying just the same as petrol drivers and be stuck in their low revving diesel cars.
edited to add that I paid 1€ 4 cents for Shell 98 Ron unleaded today- thats about 70p ltr

Yep optimax used to be 79.9p, then went to 81.9p and now its 83.9p ffs. Ah well I try and console myself by saying its only another quid or so per tank. Will probably still be saying that when it costs me £80 to fill her up

i've noticed a general increase in price over the past few years....it was only as recent as about 6ish years ago that derv was about 5p a litre cheaper than UL, due to only being bought by hgv/wagon type work vehicles
but the recent influx of 'trendy' 'sporty' VW style GTi's etc that because of increased demand the fuel companies have cottoned on and upped the price, and it hasn't helped that a recent report indicated by 2005 half of all vehicles on the road will be weasel!!
info sourced from a friend who drives a petrol tanker!!!
