I have been given some data to write onto a CD. The data is a CD image that was extracted with a Linux application (dunno which one) and is called <filename>.img
I have tried to write this img file to CD with a few things and cannot extract the image to the CD succesfully. I know that CloneCD uses images with .ccd extensions and Nero uses .nr<something> file extensions but i dunno what uses .img image files.
Can anyone help ?
Dave

hmm, could be roxio's Easy CD Creator?
If you have someone with a macintosh then see if they have Roxio Toast Titanium 5 and see if that can handle the image.
one other thought, think that DiscCopy on the mac writes image files with a .img tag, so that could be what it is.
How big is the image file? reason I ask is that depending on size, and what format it is, it may be possible for me (using toast on the mac) to convert it to a format you can use, but not sure if that would work.

I thought .img was the default extension for a ISO9660 image file.
I've succesfully burnt images created with mkisofs on Linux, using Nero on a PC.
If you have the latest version of nero you could even try mounting the .img as a virtual CD image.

With EZ-CD creator, you have to change the file type it looks for to .img
Do File > burn cd from image > in the box it opens change the file type to *.img
Browse to location of said file and you're away .....
