First, you were NOT visiting a website with offensive content, it's a car discussion forum.

You HAVE been found making non-work related use of the Internet. Does your company have an Internet usage policy? Does it use web filtering software? Have you read the works policy / signed anything to say you understand the policy?

If there is NO policy, the worst you can expect is to be given a verbal ticking off. If you get more than this, you could go to a tribunal.

If there IS a policy, it depends on the wording, and the interpretation of non-work usage.

Be ready to apologise for "mis-using company resources". Make the point that you were NOT surfing **** etc, you were asking a genuine question. Admit it was non-work related.

Oh, and download BlackBoard FileWipe (freeware) and delete your URL history, cookies, temp. internet cache etc.
