Upgrade from NT4 to W2K problem!
Hi All
My companies IT dept have just upgraded my laptop from Win NT4 to Win 2K inc Office 2K and both my personal address book and personal folders (Outlook) are now missing. I've tried searching for *.pst and *.pab but they ain't showing themselves.
Anyone got any ideas? (backup? whats that then EEEK!)

Hi there,
Try poking around in:
C:\Documents and Settings\<user name>\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook
and see if there's anything in there. Failing that, I'm afraid I have no idea.
Simon.

If it's been Upgraded and not Freshly installed, try rooting arround in
c:\winnt\profiles
But if you can't find it by searching for *.pst and *.pab then i'd fear the worst

I would expect the upgrade was actually a re-image as this is the std process..
It's sounds like you may have lost this data, if so you IT dept should be shot as catering for users personal data is a part of any good migration process..
I would do what most users do and make a scene, babble alot, whinge and whine and generally make yourself the user from hell.. Saying that you still won't get your data back and the IT dept will still think your a pain in the ****..
Cheers
