I can't get Gamespy to let me do anything other than search for people, the "ADD" option for my "buddies list" is always greyed out.

I have got Nvidia detonator drivers for my card and I can now see the task bar and icq messages when I'm playing CS, without having to shut the game down or lose my sound.

You see Steve without that facility, I could never see the point of ICQ most of the time as I couldn't see/make use of it anyway.

I played on a server map 747 last evening when the Ts were openly usinng Roger Wilco and the gameplay changed enormously. Far less running about, because they could speak to dead relatives who knew where we were.

I think it is unfair(ie cheating) if everyone doesn't have it. I think we should wait for the voice comm offical version of CS.

Any help with Gamespy to make it useful?

 

bazza : the thing though is we can disable the chasecam so you can only follow your own team when dead - like you've no doubt seen on some servers. therefore Roger Wilco only useful when you are alive and cant be used to tell your still alive team-mates where the enemy are.

not sure why you cant add 'buddies'. will look l8r when i get home.

i dont use (and cant see) icq when i'm playing but its there showing people i am online and will get message when i leave game. also it tells people which server i'm playing cs on.

I've been known to use the laptop on one side of the desk with ICQ etc on it and my main PC with C/S - both share the ISDN through my linux box. I can then also surf scoobynet whilst I'm dead .

 

I dunno it just happened, but let me check the full particulars of this scenario before I talk gollocks.

Barrysworld times out on me.

Cyborg2 (UK2net) says there are 856 players on line but don't know if that's current.

NGUK web site is being updated or something.

Are any servers out there working?
