Look at the table - The symbols for 9, 18, 27, 36, 45 etc are the same. Choosing a two digit number then adding the digits and subtracting will always give you a multiple of 9. (It will be 9 * the first digit)
EG -
11 add to give 2, subtract to give 9
26 add to give 8, subtract to give 18
21 add to give 3, subtract to give 18
The crystal ball always shows the symbol which lives beside multiples of 9
The table changes every time so it makes it difficult to see the pattern
