I've just ordered a Canon Powershot A20. Not as dinky as the original Digital Ixus (not necessarily a bad thing) but better spec & cheaper (around £320). The newer Ixuses (?!) seem only really to offer a movie mode over what the Powershot can do).

I have the IxusV as well. It was £400 from Jessops about 2 months ago. It does 10 second movie clips too. Takes good pictures and can be plugged straight into your telly which is quite cool. It is the same size as the IxusII with only a 2 times zoom whereas the Ixus300 (?) has a 3 times zoom and is a fair bit bigger.

A couple of months back we bought a Ricoh RDC 6000, £230 from Jessops (I looked through the a mag/websites, they called the number of the best price and called me back, I collected it that day and emailed my mum pics of our daughter for mothers day !!! everyone happy). Camera is good 2.1 mega pixel CCD even intepolates to 3.? mega pixels, but to be honest I dont use that resolution much.
Anyway It does short movie clips as well as stills and can be used as a webcam if you want, so pretty flexible. Only down sides is only comes with 8mb of smart media, but for the price you can afford to get more and there is no optical zoom.
USB, serial and comp video kits all came in the box as did recharger/rechargeable battery (Generally lasts 50 or so pics with screen/flash on, then needs a charge).
You pays ya money, I set a budget of £250 at the time and this was by far the best available for that price.
