Is there any way to find the name for a telephone number that called you?
As per title, if you miss a call and you don't recognise the number on caller display, is there any tool/program/website that can tell you the name or company of the number?
There are probably some sort of protection acts which prevent this so not sure of it's possible...
Neil - that is lateral thinking at its best. If they won't tell you who they are, tell them they have won a prize and you need a name and addres to send it to. There is a hack for BT Phonedisk so that you can look stuff up in reverse, but this is illegal, so you shouldn't do it

Gwad.... Any more muppet suggestions before this thread gets transfered..

Or can someone save it with a sensible answer....
Other wise I'll end up with my first thread in the muppet section and no way do I want to go there..

Not even remotely 'muppetty'....
go to BT's website - Directory Inquiries.
From what I remember, I did the same thing when I was trying to locate a name and address.
It works, as logn as they're not ex-directory....
