Touring Cars are rubbish......
#1
Hi all - I'm a new poster on these here forums.
Anyway...... was at the touring cars on Sunday at Knockhill. What's happened, there used to be a decent mix of cars Audis Alfas Fords Volvos etc. Now all I could see were two works Astra teams and possibly the Peugeot coupes- the rest looked like privateers.
A very poor show I thought, where have all the other teams gone? Still the rest of the racing was pretty good. The MG Xpower 500bhp thing was most awesome and grunt-tastic.

I agree father - bring back the good old days of 1992 with Rouse and Hoy battling it out in the Omega Carinas, and Cleland swaring a lot
I actually prefer the production guys now in the touring cars i.e. the ones you said looked like privateers.

Certainly do
He was doing superb, charging through the field then lost it. I was stood right between the old hairpin and the bridge so saw the whole thing.
Even managed to get my mugshot in The Sun in the crowd scene behind

Ahhh, the good old days. I remember going to brands hatch and watching the Volvo estates cause serious mayhem at druids. Top class action. It's a real pity its gone downhill, bit like F1. Rallying is still cool though.

Bring back Gerry Marshall and his awesome V8-powered Vauxhall Ventora. Or the works Rover P6 V8, with flared arches. Does anyone else remember these beasties, or am I just too old..?

Small, boys, jumpers for goal post, mum calling you in for tea "In a Minuet mum.." they cried.....
I remember all that old stuff and it was fantastic, but the stuff on the telly at the weekend was great racing, just missing the support from the manufacturers. The new formula is working well, next year it will be better. So I think touring cars is a long way from Crap.

Didn't see the stuff on the telly but from trackside it was pretty boring I'm afraid

Think I'm going to get into watching bikes. Superbikes seem to always be at brands hatch and it's meant to be a great laugh, plus I'm a secret biker at heart.
