what year is a car registration eg. xxx111F
as I saw a Ford GT40 today and was wondering if it was real? Dunno how rare they are but it sounded amazing even if it was a copy! There are a few nice cars around where I live so supose it could be real?

It was a red one and had a hump for the driver (so he could fit i suppose?)

Any ideas?

sounds like it could be real then? or maybe a private plate on a kit car!! If I see him again do you think it would be cheeky to ask if its a kit car? after all it is a ford and all the cossie boys must be used to being asked if it is real!

they were made from 1965 to 1969 so it could be a genuine one ? they cost £6,000
what can you buy for dat now ???
the first car i bought didnt even have a prefix letter (or is it a post-fix letter)
which shows im an old git and its time for my hot choclate and bed (nurse ...! )

shame there still not £6000 otherwise I know what I would be buying! and there would also be classic car insurance!

F went from August 1967 to July 1968. E had only lasted from January to July 1967 (before that the suffixes had follwed the calendar years, but motor dealers could not cope with the new year rush).

Oh, the joy of being old!

My brother's boss at the time (who owned a big engineering company in Gloucester) had one, registration no. G 90.
