Hi.

I am no techie, so can anybody explain to me how I can use my mobile phone for internet access?
I have a Siemens 35i and data cable, but I understand that I need software to make it all work. No doubt this software needs configuring too. Is the software available to D/L? any help would be gratefully recieved.

obviously to get an internet connection you need a WAP enabled phone (the data cable may just be to sync with your computer appointments book) - the siemens website will probably give more info - ?www.siemens.com - and search for your phone's model number.

if it is a WAP enabled phone, it's my understanding you then have to contact your telco provider (BT, Vodafone, who-ever) and apply for a WAP link to your phone - which means assigning an address or something to your phone so relayed websites can be picked up by your phone (and so the telco can charge you for the privilege). You can then get your email routed to your cellphone, etc.

I think jonrob means Internet access by connecting his computer to a mobile phone. Note sure how it's done with Siemens but with a Nokia you just download the Nokia Data Suite which makes your mobile appear as a modem in Windows and you just dial up in the normal way
