Excel to Acrobat hyperlinks

Sorry for another IT help question, but I've tried a number of other places and must revert to type(ing!).
If I have an Excel 2000 worksheet, with hyperlinks to other cells within the same worksheet, and I distill it into Acrobat (4.05), the hyperlinks don't work any more. But from all the Adobe literature, they should.
Does anyone know a) if there is a bug-fix patch for this, or b) if it would work with Acrobat 5.0? I doubt the latter as I read a lot on the Adobe bbs that even hyperlinks in Word 2000 now disappear and it is a recognised bug.
