Quote'she does not seek to make any excuse for the offence.'

Yet she says "She was travelling in the outside lane when she approached and overtook a gaggle of HGV vehicles, she thought she was adhering to the speed limit."

As usual one rule for them. Surely she would get points?

The last time I said
i didnt realise what the speed limit was/thought I was only doing the speed limit/didnt realise how fast I was going

I got cautioned for driving without due care and attention

So now if I get caught, I own up, and say yes, but I am sorry

She did get a big fine, and 7 days Ban, for a first driving offence

The point of the post was really that, first conviction, less than 100mph on a motorway, a solictor and she was banned for 7 days

I think there has been at least 3 ppl recently caught speeding doing over 60mph in a 30mph zone, and were wondering what the outcome might be

This could be a possible indication

Does this mean that in seven days time she will have a clean licence again and can get another 12 points before her next Ban result then whats £400 when your propably earning £100,000 a year.

I didnt

I got a Ban code, has to be declared to Insurance etc etc

thankfully now it has gone

When you get a temp ban, I dont think it is the same as a totting up ban, as mine was

Also mine was in the eighties and was for 6 months

I had 3 points on my licence, and then got a ban (4 weeks) for speeding, along with a mandatory 3 points. I was going "quick" on a dead straight road at midnight in a 60 in the middle of no-where and didn't realise that the 3.0l Senator was actually trying to catch me....

Got my licence back clean (ie no points) but you have to declare the ban for insurance purposes for a few years...
