Hi there' does anyone know if Gradius is available on the pc? Was called Nemisis also, use to play it in my local and 10p lasted 60mins. I know it has come out on the PS2 but I'm not getting one yet, so if anyone can help, it would be appreciated.

Cheers... C

Craft,

Get yourself an arcade emulator. Will work a treat. Not sure what emulator it will be supported under, but take a wander over to

Craft,

An emulator is a piece of software that 'pretends' it's something else, in this case, an old arcade machine.

With the emulator you need some Roms, images of the eprom chips that are programmed with the games.

Once you have both of these, you can run the game as if it was the EXACT arcade game (minus a stockpile of 10ps )

I'll have a scour around and see if I can find the stuff you need and get back to you.

Craft,

What machine are you using? PC? What spec?

I have what you need I can mail you it, but it's about 5 meg in size, but that does include Gradius I, II and III and Nemesis.

Mail me off line if you want to discuss it away from the BBS.

Cheers mate' unsure what you mean about type off computer though? If you tell me exactly what info you need I'll try and find out. When you say 5meg do you mean 5 megabytes, I think there is 2 giga bytes of space left is this enough? As you can tell I'm not a techie
Cheers for the help

Just wanted to make sure you were using a PC and not an apple mac or a zx spectrum

It's 5 Meg in size. Just wanted to let you know before mailing you them in case you didn't want to receive a 5 Meg mail!! 2 Gig will be plenty of room!

I'll mail you it tonight, I've zipped it all up in a single zip file, so all you need to do is unzip it and run it and it should all work. I'll try and draft together some newbie instructions for the emulator but most of it is in the readme anyway.

Had a quick go on nemesis last night and I'm pants

Edit:

Might be useful to know what speed processor you have as well. I'll send you the stuff anyway, it will work, but depending on the speed of your CPU depends on how close to arcade speed you get. There are a few thousand games supported by this emulator, it's just a case of tracking down the Roms somewhere. If you read through all the documentation with it, you will start to get an idea of what it's all about.

Your email is on it's way. Might take a while as it's 5.5 Mb and I only have a 56k modem

It'll be worth it in the end though

I've sent you some brief instructions with it which should get you going.

Have fun

Bugger! My NTL account wouldn't let me send it as one file so I've had to split it into two

Instructions are still there though so you should be OK

Damn I need a cable modem
